Using TV Ads to Get More Facebook Fans

I have observed quite a a few Aussie Businesses using TV ads to get more likes on Facebook.

Today it is the turn of Discover Downunder:

Discover Down Under is Australia’s longest running Travel Lifestyle TV Show dedicated to all aspects of Caravanning and Camping.

The TV program is running a competition via Facebook to win a Coromal Caravan (valued at $46,500).

The show is inviting people during the program to go online and register for the chance to win the attractive prize. I visited their website because my family was really interested …

When I came online I realised that it is a Facebook Campaign. The show is running the competition via their Facebook page.

My questions are:

  • Is this a viral strategy where all your friends will see that you registered for the chance to win the expensive Caravan?
  • Are people keen on leaving their details?
